There is no universal schedule
Saying that every solar array must be cleaned after the same number of months is an oversimplification. A system near the ocean, one surrounded by trees and one on a high commercial roof can collect dirt at very different rates. The decision should consider the site, module tilt, rainfall, birds and production history.
What changes in Cozumel
On an island, humid air and marine aerosols can leave deposits on exposed surfaces. Dust, leaves, pollen and windborne residue add to the problem. Rain may remove loose dirt, but it does not always remove adhered deposits or replace a technical inspection.
When to schedule cleaning
An inspection is sensible when there is visible dirt, bird droppings, leaves or persistent spotting, or when monitoring shows a sustained decrease that cannot be explained by weather, new shade or consumption changes.
Cleaning and inspection belong together
A maintenance visit can also check the inverter, DC and AC connections, visible components and WiFi monitoring. This provides more value than treating cleaning as an isolated task.
What to send before the visit
Share the property location, approximate number of panels, type of property, date of the last service and any changes seen in monitoring. Photos taken safely can also help prepare the visit.
